Home For Girls (Palayan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines)

The Home For Girls in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines is one of JCMI-USA's ongoing missions. The home is occupied by about 85 to 100 girls ranging in age from 4 to 17. These girls are unadoptable because they are not orphans but a product of families where the basic dynamics and function has totally deteriorated. Some have suffered severe physical abuse from family members and a great majority have suffered sexual abuse, rape, and incest perpetrated by a cousin, a brother, an uncle, or a father. The very people the child looks up to for love, security, and protection are the ones mercilessly victimizing her! Child abuse, whether physical or sexual, totally diminishes the child's self respect, self worth, and their general feeling of security. The crime is not limited to third world countries alone but also to developed countries such as the USA. It does not discriminate from the family's economic standing or prominence. The topic of child abuse, specially child sexual abuse, carries with it such a terrible stigma and is such a taboo that most cases go unreported. For every one child that reported the crime there are hundreds more who did not report the crime for fear of breaking up the family and for fear of physical harm. The wall of silence created by the victim allows the victimization and degradation to continue for a long time. In November 2015 JCMI-USA visited the girls for 3 days and gave each one a pre-packed gift bag of grooming items, underwear and other necessities. We also hosted the kids and staff for a lunch and supper. The children were free to interact with JCMI-USA representatives and the stories each one told was just heart wrenching! These children are so hungry for loving attention that they cling to you and beg you not to leave them.

JCMI-USA representatives left the Home with a heavy heart. Tears were shed and hearts were broken for the suffering the children have had to endure in the hands of their families and the dim future they face once they leave the Home when they reach the age of 18. JCMI-USA is committed to helping these children heal from the pain, help them recover their self esteem and self respect, and help them realize that there is love in the world. Most importantly, we will help them realize that Jesus Christ, the God of all creation, loves them dearly, even in their brokenness. We strongly appeal to you for financial support to assist us in our mission trip to the Phiippines in 2016. Our goal for 2016:

- to distribute gift bags with various necessities - host some meals for the children - solicit volunteer medical and dental professionals to attend to the children - solicit low cost hair stylists to give the children proper haircut Aside from the above list, our long range plan is to assist the girls who have turned 18 and had to leave the Home. We would like to be able to afford vocational training for these young ladies to prepare them for life on the outside. We would like to mentor and guide them in their daily life and spiritual life. In the end, we would like for these young ladies to be able to forgive their predators and discover a new life worth living.
